Commissioner Fabiola Stuyvesant

Fabiola has been a public servant most of her life. After graduating at the top of her class with a Bachelors’ Degree in Economics, she became a university professor teaching courses in Public Finance and Microeconomics, then she worked in the private sector doing operational planning in the petroleum industry in Venezuela.
Since her election as your Commissioner, Fabiola has been actively involved with key organizations, including the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, the Florida League of Cities Federal Action Strike Team, the National League of Cities Women in Municipal Government Committee, and the NLC Hispanic Elected Local Officials Committee. Commissioner Fabiola currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the National League of Cities Youth, Education, and Families Committee.
In the last few years, Fabiola also became an alumna of the FBI Citizens Academy, graduated from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Miami 45 program, and earned certifications in Command Emergency Response Team (CERT), Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity from FIU and MDCC, as well as Ethics and Best Practices State certifications, among others.
As your commissioner, Fabiola has dedicated her timing serving the city that she and her family and have called home since 2007. She has passionately advocated to ensure that our residents' voice are heard at every level of government, from city hall to the U.S. Capitol.
