Fabiola Stuyvesant brings over two decades of unique experience bridging the public, private, and academic sectors. Graduating at the top of her class with a degree in Economics, Fabiola began her career managing complex operational planning and logistics within the international petroleum industry, while concurrently serving as an Associate Professor of Public Finance and Microeconomics. 

As an immigrant from Venezuela, Fabiola was welcomed with open arms by the Greater Miami community in 2007. This is where she built her life, raised her three children, and cultivated a deep, personal commitment to preserving freedom, transparency, and opportunity. Driven by a desire to give back to the city she loves, Fabiola dedicated herself to public service, combining her rigorous financial acumen with her passion for local advocacy. 

Elected as City Commissioner for Sunny Isles Beach in 2021 (serving through 2028), Fabiola provides executive financial oversight for multi-million-dollar municipal budgets, guides strategic land use policies, and fiercely advocates for government transparency. Her dedication to equitable community development and local governance earned her the prestigious 2023 "Home Rule Hero Award" from the Florida League of Cities. 

Beyond City Hall, Fabiola serves as the Grassroots Engagement Director (Miami-Broward) for Americans for Prosperity. She specializes in empowering local stakeholders, elevating marginalized voices, and building coalitions across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Whether she is building partnerships to integrate the city into the State Attorney’s Human Trafficking Task Force or tackling local school overcrowding, she knows how to turn bold ideas into operational realities. 

Fabiola’s advocacy extends far beyond South Florida. She is an active, influential voice on the national stage, serving on prominent boards including:

• National League of Cities (NLC): Finance, Administration and Intergovernmental Relations (FAIR) Committee; Women in Municipal Government; Hispanic Elected Local Officials; and former Vice-Chair of the Youth, Education, and Families Committee.
• Florida League of Cities (FLC): Finance and Taxation Committee; Federal Action Strike Team.
• National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO)
• Among others.

A modern leader committed to continuous growth, Fabiola recently earned an Evidence in Public Policy Certificate from the University of Oxford. She is an alumna of the FBI Citizens Academy and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Miami 45 program. Additionally, she holds advanced certifications in Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI Thinking), and Emergency Response (CERT). 

 As your Commissioner, Fabiola has dedicated her time to serving the city she and her family have called home for nearly two decades. She passionately advocates to ensure that her residents' voices are heard, protected, and empowered at every level of government—from City Hall to the U.S. Capitol.
